Privacy policy

What this website collects, how it is used, and your choices. In short: we use what you send us to respond to you, we never sell it, and you should not send confidential information through the site.

Who we are

This website is operated by Brandes Law Group PLLC, a law firm in Fort Lauderdale, Florida ("Brandes Law Group," "we," or "us"). This policy explains what information the site collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It covers brandeslawgroup.com only. Information you share after you engage the firm is governed by your engagement letter and the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar, including the duty of confidentiality.

Information you give us

When you use the contact form, we collect the information you enter: your name, email address, phone number (optional), the type of matter, the details you describe, and how you heard about us (optional). If you email or call, we receive whatever you include in that message or call.

Please do not send confidential information through the website. Submitting the form or contacting us does not create an attorney-client relationship. We will first check for conflicts of interest, and nothing you send is treated as confidential client information until a written engagement is in place.

Information collected automatically

  • Hosting logs. The site is hosted by Netlify, which processes standard server information such as IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the time of the request in order to deliver and secure the site.
  • Site performance. Netlify measures anonymous page-load performance (such as how quickly pages render) so we can keep the site fast.
  • Advertising measurement. The site uses the Google tag (Google Ads) to measure whether our advertising leads to visits, calls, emails, or form submissions. Google may set cookies or use similar technologies for this purpose. Google's use of this information is governed by Google's Privacy Policy, and you can manage ad personalization at Google Ad Settings.
  • Fonts. Pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the fonts are requested.

How we use information

  • To respond to your inquiry, schedule a consultation, and check for conflicts of interest.
  • To provide legal services if you engage the firm.
  • To understand how visitors find the site and which pages are useful, and to measure our advertising.
  • To keep the site secure and working properly.
  • To comply with legal and professional obligations.

If you schedule a call online, Microsoft Bookings collects the details you enter (such as your name, email address, phone number, and preferred time) so the appointment can be booked, confirmed, and added to the calendar.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run the site and the practice, such as Netlify (website hosting and form handling), Google (advertising measurement and fonts), and Microsoft (email, calendar, and online scheduling through Microsoft Bookings). These providers process information on our behalf. We may also disclose information when required by law, court order, or the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar, or to protect our rights.

How long we keep it

Inquiries that do not become engagements are kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain conflict-check records, and meet our professional obligations. Client information is retained according to our file-retention practices and applicable rules.

Your choices

  • You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without them.
  • You can ask us what information we hold about you from the website, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing jonathan@brandeslawgroup.com. We may need to keep some information to meet legal or professional obligations, such as conflict-check records.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we use reputable providers for hosting and email. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, which is another reason not to send confidential information through the website.

Children

This site is intended for business owners and professionals. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
