A legal department without the overhead

Outside general counsel on a flat monthly fee

Brandes Law Group serves as outside general counsel for privately held companies on a flat monthly retainer. The retainer covers a defined scope of ongoing work, typically contract review and negotiation, corporate housekeeping, and day-to-day legal questions. Larger projects such as an acquisition are quoted separately as a flat fee.

  • One flat monthly fee
  • Contract review & day-to-day questions
  • Deals quoted separately as flat fees

What does the monthly retainer include?

  • Review and negotiation of customer, vendor, and service agreements
  • Routine agreements: NDAs, contractor and consulting agreements, terms of service
  • Corporate housekeeping: consents, resolutions, minute books, annual filings
  • Day-to-day questions on growth, partnerships, hiring, and financing
  • Coordination with tax, IP, employment, and litigation counsel when needed

What is not included?

Litigation, which the firm does not handle. Acquisitions, sales, and capital raises, which are quoted as separate flat fees. Specialized tax, IP prosecution, and regulatory work, which is coordinated with outside specialists. The engagement letter sets out the scope in writing.

Who is it for?

Companies that sign contracts every month and need a lawyer regularly, but not a full-time in-house hire. Typical clients include service businesses, professional practices, software companies, and sponsor-backed portfolio companies.

Why a flat monthly fee?

You can call or send a contract without weighing what it will cost, and the fee stays the same month to month for the agreed scope.

How much does it cost?

The monthly fee is scoped to your company: contract volume, number of entities, and how much day-to-day support you need. Acquisitions and other transactions are quoted separately as flat fees. The monthly fee is set after a free 30-minute call. See flat-fee pricing.

Know the number before you commit. A free 30-minute call, then a written flat-fee quote.
